ABOUT POSITION:
Under the direction of the Clinical Director, this position provides community mental health support, education, behavioural consultation, mental health assessments, and evidence-based treatment to children within their home and community settings. The Outreach Clinician is a distinctive role with the opportunity to engage deeply with a child’s circle of support, offering training on various topics to bolster evidence-based strategies, thereby enhancing the mental health knowledge of families and the broader community.

SALARY: $130,000 - $150,000 and benefits package
This position is an opportunity to be part of a new and exciting children’s mental health clinic. Our Clinical Psychologist will be passionate about the delivery of mental health services to children and their families and committed to being part of an interdisciplinary team with an integrated service model. They will provide individual, family and group evidence-based treatments that are trauma-informed, strength-based, child and family-centered and congruent with best practices. They will also provide psychological assessments, have an openness to training students and collaborating in research, provide consultation to interdisciplinary colleagues and work under the direction of the Clinical Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provides a full-range of psychological services, including psychological assessments, individual and group therapy with children and parents.
• Conducts family-based interventions with parents and significant supporting individuals.
• Provides individual and/or group treatment to parents and caregivers for their own mental health issues.
• Collaborates with team members on various mental health promotion and program initiatives.
• Collaborates and consults with KIDTHINK mental health and out-reach clinicians.
• Participates in the development and delivery of workshops and training for external groups including school and daycare staff, other mental health professionals and parents/caregivers.
• Participates in all aspects of the care continuum and the child’s mental health pathway.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from a CPA accredited university.
• Registered or eligible for full registration with the Psychological Association of
Manitoba.
• Demonstrated experience in clinical assessment, diagnosis and
treatment of mental health disorders in children.
• Proficient in the delivery of psychometric tools and their interpretation.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and provide psycho-educational/ skills-based training
programs.
• Ability to provide compassionate and efficient support to children and their families.
• Knowledge and awareness of cultural and socio-economic factors that inform service
provision.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability to establish and
maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of individuals/groups.
• Willingness to adapt to new techniques and best practices.
• Understanding of Manitoba’s health and social welfare system.
• Strong team work ethic.
• Ability to work flexible hours to meet productivity goals.
